The Greensboro affiliate focuses its efforts on providing the community with innovative programs and cutting edge information on issues affecting children and families. The affiliate's Spirit of Excellence tutoring and mentoring program consists of 15 sites throughout the community that offeraccess to the Internet. This program provides tutoring for students in grades one through twelve, who receive one-on-one academic assistance from trained volunteers. in the community. Other programs include the Black History Quiz Bowl, Parent to Parent Workshops that develop parenting skils, the Martin Luther King Jr. Violence Prevention Program and the Science Fair.
