The Houston affiliate focuses its efforts on child welfare, by locating permanent homes for African American children awaiting adoption. The affiliate's primary goal is to decrease the number of African American children that enter and remain in the foster care system. In addition to a long-time partnership with the adoption program One Church, One Child, the affiliate conducts a variety of activities throughout the year to achieve their goal, such as hosting adoption recruitment activities and adoption festivals, and paying the court costs for adoptive families.
