The Nashville affiliate focuses on improving the Nashville educational system and increasing resources for school aged children in their community. This past year, the affiliate stressed the importance of literacy and reading comprehension within children and parents. A partnership was developed with the Motheread/Fatherread program which uses multicultural children's literature to help both parents and children improve reading skills, build critical thinking ability, and talk about challenging family issues.
