The Newark affiliate has primarily focused its activities around early childhood education and serves as the voice for the parents of young children. The affiliate is one of three NBCDI affiliates to partner with the Institute on its Cross Cultural Partnership Project to improve early childhood education in Latino and African American communities. The affiliate works closely with other community organizations to monitor the outcome of the Abbott Mandate issued by the New Jersey Supreme Court.
