ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL, Albany , NY

New Covenant Charter School , Albany , New York ’s oldest public charter school is seeking an experienced, committed and talented principal with a successful record of outstanding student achievement to immediately lead our K-6, 600 student elementary school. This is an exciting opportunity to take our public charter school to the next level of success. Qualifications include:

• Demonstrated ability to build/lead a high-performing urban elementary school

• Record of improving student achievement, with a particular focus on closing the performance gap  between African Americans and other students

• Successful history of creating highly positive, collaborative working relationships with all key stakeholders: students, parents, teachers, administrators, Board of Trustees and community members

• Proven skills in staff selection, supervision, evaluation and development

• Strong knowledge of elementary school curricula, pedagogy and behavioral management practices

• Highly effective interpersonal, communications and public relations skills

• High academic standards and demonstrated respect for children and their parents

• Experience with public school budgeting, finance and operations

• Commitment to the Albany community
