Phase 2:
MESSAGE DEVELOPMENT-
The goal of the message development phase is to ensure
a connection is made between the needs of the parents
and the early literacy campaign messages and products.
Message outlets will include: radio, television public
service announcements, print media and information dissemination
through brochures, training videos and the Internet.
Phase 3:
PARTNERSHIP BUILDING -
The goal of the partnership building phase is to develop
strategic relationships with national literacy organizations.
A review of the organizations currently at the forefront
of the emerging early literacy movement reveals that
the children and families who are most at risk of developing
early literacy deficits are not adequately represented.
NBCDI felt strongly that partnership with the National
Council of LaRaza (NCLR) would enable the Love to Read
message to permeate both the African American and Latino
communities and positively impact the lives of thousands
more children.
As the message and content conduits NBCDI and NCLR will
not only serve as the “pipelines” into the
African American and Latino communities, but will also
bring expanded credibility to other mainstream organizations
that offer excellent programs that can be utilized by
African American and Latino parents, caregivers, and
early care and education professionals to facilitate
early literacy.
