What is the CDA scholarship?
The CDA scholarship is a partial scholarship that will be awarded in the amount of $200 for Direct Assessment fee, $100 for the second setting fee and $25 for the renewal fee.

How much is the CDA Assessment?
The full cost of the CDA Direct Assessment is $325, the Second Setting Fee is $225, and the renewal fee is $50.

Who is eligible for the scholarship?
You must reside in the District of Columbia or work in a licensed child care center, licensed family child care home or home visitor program in the District.

How do I apply for the scholarship?
Scholarship applications can be downloaded from the NBCDI website www.nbcdi.org or obtained in person from NBCDI, 1313 L Street, Suite 110 , Washington , DC 20005 .

Are there any deadlines?
You can apply any time during the months of April, May, June and July

Do I have to use the scholarship within a certain time period?
The scholarship voucher must be used within 60 days of being awarded.

How are scholarships awarded?
Scholarships are awarded on a first come, first served basis to applicants who meet all the scholarship criteria.

Will NBCDI send me a check for the scholarship?
No. NBCDI will send the scholarship award money directly to the Council for Professional Recognition.  You should submit the original award letter you receive from NBCDI with the raised seal to the Council along with your application.  No copies of the letter will be accepted from the Council.  Since the scholarship is a partial scholarship the applicant must pay the difference directly to the Council for Professional Recognition.

What if I misplace my award letter?
Contact NBCDI immediately and we will provide you with another copy.

My scholarship award expired what can I do?
