BCDI-Albany Hosts "Breaking the Pipeline from School to Prison" Community Forum

BCDI-Albany recently hosted a "Breaking the Pipeline: School to Prison" community forum on Monday, November 21, 2016 at the Albany Public Library, Washington Avenue Branch. The event included a panel and documentary screening of "Strange Fruit Redux" by Dr. Hakim M. Rashid, Professor at Howard University. Panelists included Director of SUNY at Albany's Liberty Partnership, Richard Smith, MA.

BCDI-Albany Distributes Nearly 1,000 "At the Farmer's Market" Books to Pre-K Students
Program

As part of their ongoing work to help children throughout the City School District of Albany develop into strong readers making positive life choices, BCDI-Albany recently donated a copy of “At the Farmer’s Market” to each of the nearly 1,000 prekindergarten students that the district serves.
