Each One, Reach One Program
The Each One, Reach One program is a student support initiative focused on literacy and language development for children from elementary to middle school. Teachers and school administrators identify students in need of additional educational support in reading and writing. To date, our students have attended several Chicago Public Schools and Whittier Public School in Harvey, Illinois.
We believe that our model of small class sizes, student-teacher ratio, individualized lesson planning, and creative exploration of topics and activities allow participating students to grow, share, and engage in learning experiences while discovering their talents, interests, and strengths.
Throughout the program, students are taught and mentored by a group of professional teachers, who are also Affiliate members, committed to supporting our children and families. They volunteer to work on Saturdays in schools, offering an extended day program for students needing specialized support. We also address the special needs of each child, including tutoring on special topics where needed.
In addition to traditional classroom practices, hands-on experiential learning experiences are also incorporated into the program. To further promote reading and writing skills, a special focus on CORE Standards and Early Learning Standards in literacy and language development is also offered to student program participants.
