Events & Programs

BCDI-Denver is excited to pilot the Family Empowerment Program (FEP) in the coming months. Developed by the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI), the Family Empowerment Program (FEP) builds the capacity of parents and caregivers as leaders and advocates of their families.

With generous support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, the National Black Child Development Institute (NBCDI) launched the national "Delivering on the Promise" campaign to dismantle the preschool to prison pipeline by addressing the rising rates of suspensions and expulsions in early childhood education. Learn more about BCDI-Denver's efforts to improve the outcomes of Black children in schools in the state of Colorado.

BCDI-Denver has partnered with Project Proud Fatherhood, LLC; Afos & Books; and Pauline Robinson Denver Public Library to create “Sankofa Storytimes” as part of NBCDI’s Read to Succeed Program. These events are free and open to children and families throughout the Denver community.
