BCDI-Denver’s Sankofa Storytime connects children to culture and community libraries while giving them with books with characters of color that reflect and celebrate their rich heritage and culture. BCDI-Denver has partnered with Project Proud Fatherhood, LLC; Afos & Books; and Pauline Robinson Denver Public Library to create “Sankofa Storytimes” as part of NBCDI’s Read to Succeed Program.
NBCDI’s Read to Succeed program is designed to promote early literacy and language development by supporting families with children between birth and eight years old to establish home libraries with culturally responsive and developmentally appropriate children’s books and providing them with supplementary resources through our National Affiliate Network.
