Kitchen Table Conversation Sept. 16, 2017 -- “The State of the Black Child and Family"
The “State of the Black Child and Family” conversation focused strength-based perspective with culturally diverse solutions regarding early care and education, education equity, school expulsion and suspension, the educational performance of our children, child health and well-being, pipeline to prison and parental engagement in the black community. Parents walked away with sense of true purpose and vowed to return for the workshop. A special thank you to Dr. Gwen Morrison for the partnership with Tarrant County College and Nedra Robinson for assembling such an esteem panel. A special shout out to our panel, Dr. Shelia Lumar, Fred Sandifer, Dr. Marion Mouton, Lawrencina Oramula, and Lisa McDaniel.
