NBCDI National Conference

OCTOBER 24-26 | ATLANTA, GA

Child

Join the most dynamic gathering of educators, advocates, visionaries, and change agents shaping what’s possible for Black children and families.

Three Bold Tracks.

One Shared Vision.

This year’s conference will explore three bold tracks that speak directly to the needs, dreams, and futures of Black children and families:

Track 1

EDUCATION

This track challenges systems that prohibit Black children from being seen and treated as children and restrict the teaching of Black history, identity, and culture, including through book bans and anti-DEI policies. Sessions should explore how to and the importance of creating imaginative, affirming, joyful, safe and culturally responsive learning and care environments that center Black children’s brilliance and belonging.

Track 2

HEALTH & WELLNESS

Wellness is not a luxury—it’s liberation. This track centers a justice-based, expansive view of health that includes physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, environmental, and ancestral well-being. Proposals should explore how to dismantle harmful systems, advance wellness equity, and build healing-centered environments for Black children and families.

Track 3

DIGITAL SAFETY

Black children navigate digital spaces filled with both possibility and complexity. While technology offers opportunities for learning, creativity, and connection, it also reflects the same inequities present in society—bias, exclusion, and surveillance. This track explores how we can design and advocate for digital environments that affirm Black children’s identities, protect their well-being, and expand their access to joyful, liberating tech experiences.
