WASHINGTON, D.C. -- National Black Child Development Institute President Leah Austin, EdD., released this statement in response to the Supreme Court ruling to tear down affirmative action in the following cases: a 6-2 vote in Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. President, and Fellows of Harvard College, alongside a 6-3 ruling in Students for Fair Admissions Inc. v. University of N.C. at Chapel Hill.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — National Black Child Development Institute President Leah Austin, EdD., released this statement in response to the forced resignation of Dr. Barbara Cooper, the former Secretary of the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education.
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- We need thoughtful, evidence-based approaches to gun violence prevention and school safety that will not bring more harm or trauma to our children. Our nation is faced with the fear that our children are not safe at their schools, in afterschool programs, in community centers, or even walking down the street.
